Carrot Cake Cappuccino

So there I was, watching food network like many nights.. and i saw this show where this guy made a carrot cake cappucino out of carrot juice! It was a show called “The Surreal Gourmet“. This guy even wanders around in a car that has toast popping out of it! pretty funny! :)

yeah.. i know it sounds weird.. you would assume that there would be coffee in the drink, but there isn’t.

so I decided to try it out, and I gotto say, I was pleasantly surprised! it was pretty tasty and really easy to make! So if anyone out there is curious.. here is the recipe! :)

Carrot Cake Cappuccino

  • 1/2 qt store-bought fresh carrot juice
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp walnut oil
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon + an equal amount to sprinkle overtop
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp all-spice (can be skipped if you have none on hand)
  • 1/8 tsp ground clove (can be skipped if you have none on hand)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
Directions:
  1. In a medium-size pot over medium-high heat, reduce the carrot juice by half. This should take about 15 minutes.
  2. Whisk in all remaining ingredients except the milk. If you have a mini emulsifier, use it to blend the liquid.
  3. In a separate pot, warm milk and whisk into a foam.
  4. Serve seasoned carrot juice in a cappuccino cup and top with milk foam. Sprinkle with cinnamon
